Arnold Senior Carlee McDonald Signs Swimming Scholarship with Florida Southern College! On Wednesday, April 21st, senior and longtime Tsunami Carlee McDonald signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for the Florida Southern Mocs this fall in college!  Carlee has been a tremendous example of what most parents hope for with their young student athletes.  She is not only incredibly successful in the classroom, but she has also shown other young Tsunamis the path from being a young 10 & under swimmer, all the way up to signing a college...

Tsunamis Enjoy a Great Evening With Ryan Lochte for a Great Cause! One year ago, the Crutchfield family hosted the 1st Annual Ryan Lochte Dinner at Florida State University to help raise money for the Mac Crutchfield Foundation.  This year was less formal but a TON of fun as Maggie, Charlie and Savannah Crutchfield opened up their home and their hearts to about 250 swimmers, friends and families from south Georgia, Tallahassee, Panama City and everywhere in between. This year our Tsunamis were able to spend even more informal time with...

PCST Jumps From 28th to 13th Place In Team Rankings In Only One Year! 2010 Short Course Southeasterns Prove To Be a Breakthrough Meet For Tsunamis! About a year and a half ago, some coaching friends of mine made a comment that they could see PCST was "about to pop" in the next year.  They had been following our improvements and could tell that something big was coming.  Since then, our championship shirts have had quotes on them that refer to that comment like "Ready to Explode", etc.  This short...

8 & Unders Lead the Way at District Championships! Tristan Gandy Brings Tsunamis a District Champion for Two Years in a Row!   For the 2nd year in a row, PCST has a District Champion!  Last year, Amelia Talkington proved that she was one of the best 8 & Under swimmers in all of Southeastern Swimming.  This year, Tristan Gandy has kept the streak alive.  His victory in the 8 & Under Boys 25 Breast was a great one!  Even better is that Tristan is only 7 years old and will be...

Tsunamis Take 3rd Overall (2nd Place Visiting Team) at ECS Meet!! Yes, we may have had nearly 50 swimmers competing in Tallahassee that weekend, but we had 22 young Tsunamis who were excited and ready to swim fast in Ft. Walton Beach.  And swim fast they did!  In spite of the Tsunami squad being split up that weekend, we still managed to pull off a 2nd place visiting team finish at the meet out of 6 total.  Congrats Tsunamis! Although myself and Coach Brian were in Tallahassee, our veterened leader,...

Tsunamis Bring Home 1st Victory of 2010 With The Top Visiting Team Trophy From ATAC!! Each year we have gone to the winter ATAC meet, I've always thought, I wonder if we could win this meet if we brought our age groupers too.  When I say "Win", of course, I mean shooting for 2nd overall since ATAC always wins their own home meets by massive landslides. :)  This year though, we opened the meet up to our age group swimmers also, and while we didn't show up in absolute full...

Tsunamis Finish GPAC Meet as the 3rd Place Visiting Team! That's not a bad way to start off the 2010 year!  We had 31 swimmers compete this weekend (last year we had 22), so that was a good start already.  Then, to finish in the top 3 for visiting teams, I must say that I'm very pleased with our Tsunamis!  We had lots of terrific swims this weekend, so I hope you enjoy reading about them! Team Scores PCST finished as the 3rd place visiting team this weekend out of...

1st Annual PCST Winter Invitational Helps PCST End 2009 With a Bang! Yes, 2009 was the most successful year in history for the Tsunamis.  Not only did we finish with the most points ever at the Short Course SES Champs (99), but also the most ever at the Long Course Championships (218.50).  We broke the 100 swimmer mark for Summer Splashes (108) in only its second season in existence, and we also broke the century mark in a meet for the first time with 102 Tsunamis in our home invitational...

PCST Takes Largest Team Ever to Gator Swim Club Winter Classic and Half of the Swimmers Finish in Championship Finals! When you travel to a meet against teams and swimmers you rarely race, it's difficult to get a pulse for how tough the competition can be and what it means to finish in the top 16 or top 8 in individual races.  The Gator Swim Club Winter Classic is a meet that has been one of the fastest winter invitationals in the country for over 20 years that I know...

Bronnenberg, Olstad and Mosely Boys Relays Make Championship Finals in Orlando! Out of the four high school seasons in which I’ve been Head Coach of PCST, this was the first one where I was able to actually be at the high school State Championships and boy oh boy was it worth the drive!  Most of our swimmers had to rest for the Regional Championships in order to qualify for States and it was worth it because we sent our largest group of qualifiers ever to the meet, including 12 swimmers...
