Half of the Entire Team Competing in Mobile Scores Top 8 Swims! Our top finisher at the CMSA Vance Rose Invitational Swim Meet was Hannah Retherford in the 11-12 Girls.  Hannah finished in the top 8 in 9 different events to earn a 2nd place High Point Award in her age group.  She was followed closely behind by her sister, Heidi Retherford, who had 9 swims in the Top 8 for the 8 & under girls!  We also had some terrific swims by a young 11-12 age group contingent that Coach Brian is working...

PCST Swimmers Compete in the Florida Kids Ironman Triathlon! One day after about 2800 people competed in the Florida Ironman (140.6 mile) race, Frank Brown Park was flooded with young aspiring athletes who wanted to strut their own abilities as a swimmer, cyclist and runner.  Around 130 kids competed from the ages of 15 and younger, including many PCST swimmers who had great races.  Here are some of the top results from our current swimmers who should be very proud of themselves because they represented PCST well!  A special congratulations...

PCST Swimmers Help Mosely Boys Win Regionals for First Time in School History!!  One clear indication that Bay County has more depth than ever is when one of our high school teams starts winning major championships.  While Mosely boys have not found victory at the State level yet, they can no longer say the same about the Regional Championships!  Congratulations to the Mosely boys for winning their first ever Regional Championship in school history!  Along the way, best times were achieved, Sectional cuts became attainable and records fell as PCST swimmers...

Mosely Girls and Boys Both Win Class 2A, District 1 Team Championships! It was a very exciting day for our Tsunami swimmers as many of them came together with some terrific swims from their high school teammates to pull away with a team District Title!  Mosely defeated Ft. Walton Beach on both the boy’s and girl’s championship.  The day was highlighted by swims from district champions, loads of PCST swimmers with new personal best times as well as some of the fastest swims in PCST history!  And we’ve still got Regionals...

Up and Coming PCST Stars Have Great Showing at Wiregrass Invitational in Dothan! We may have only had 10 total swimmers in the Dothan meet over the weekend, but they sure did a great job!  The Tsunamis were led by a couple of young swimmers in Hannah Retherford (2nd overall) and Fallon Gelsleichter (5th overall), who are quickly becoming veterans of the team in their early years.  Both girls received high point trophies for their great overall scores from the meet and were joined by two new PCST stars, Luke...

Tsunamis Win a Close One at the Home Short Course Meet! If you think back to some emails I may have sent out, or some encouraging talks at practice that I may have given about 3-4 weeks ago, you will remember how much our coaching staff stressed the importance of reaching the "Mission 100!" goal.  The desire to have 100 Tsunami swimmers at the meet may sound like a novelty because it’s neat to be able to say that we’ve broken the century mark at our own home meet.  However, the true reasoning why we encouraged so many...

Strong Showing From Tsunamis to Start the Short Course Season! The GPAC meet was a much antcipated one for your Tsunamis because it had been over 2 months since our last competition at the Southeastern Championships in Nashville.  We took 43 swimmers to Pensacola for a terrific meet and had a 4th place finish overall out of 9 teams.  The Tsunamis were led by veteran swimmers, newcomers and had some surprisingly great finishes by novice swimmers in their first meet ever.  After a great meet to start the season, we are VERY...

Hello Tsunamis! PCST Parent "Swiminar" This Monday, October 12th, we will be having a Parent "Swiminar" at both pools in order to help you learn about what swim meets are like.  We will have experienced parents who will be there to talk to you about what to expect at a meet, what to bring, how to act, how to sign up, etc.  The days of skipping meets because you don't know what to expect are long gone. :)  The days of showing up at a meet lost because you have no...

Tsunamis Make Prestigious "All-Star Team" List for Southeastern Swimming! Each season the results from the entire year are tabulated to determine the Southeastern Swimming All-Star team.  I am proud to announce that 5 Tsunamis and 2 newcomer Tsunamis made the team for this past long course season!  This is a remarkable achievement because it is quite literally the best of the best in Southeastern Swimming.  When you get a moment, please congratulate these swimmers because their hard work in the pool certainly paid off this summer. Tsunami All-Star Swimmers Amelia Talkington...

Tsunamis Finish Summer With Highest Point Total Ever At Southeastern Championships! I could go on and on forever about how great everybody swam this summer and at the Southeastern Championships!  However, I’ll do my best not to brag on too long and let the results speak for themselves.  PCST improved in nearly every possible statistical category except for one at the Southeastern Championships in Nashville this July.  Who would have thought that we would improve as much as we did and actually finish one place lower (22nd overall out of 41 teams)...
