Dinner and Dancing with Ryan Lochte!

Tsunamis Enjoy a Great Evening With Ryan Lochte for a Great Cause!

One year ago, the Crutchfield family hosted the 1st Annual Ryan Lochte Dinner at Florida State University to help raise money for the Mac Crutchfield Foundation.  This year was less formal but a TON of fun as Maggie, Charlie and Savannah Crutchfield opened up their home and their hearts to about 250 swimmers, friends and families from south Georgia, Tallahassee, Panama City and everywhere in between.

This year our Tsunamis were able to spend even more informal time with world record holder and Olympic Champion, Ryan Lochte.  After becoming close to the Crutchfield family, Ryan was gracious and kind enough to become the face of the Mac Crutchfield Foundation at no expense and was a wonderful guest as he made time for everybody at the 2nd Annual dinner.  Swimmers were able to go up to Ryan and talk to him at any point in the night, including the latter part of the evening when all swimmers went out on the dancefloor to light it up with Ryan! :)

I went to the dinner with our team president, Brett Troia and two of our up and coming superstar Tsunamis,Kari Troia and Kalanne Krause.  Yes, both girls squeeled in excitement for the last 10 minutes of the drive knowing that they would soon get to meet Ryan in person.  But who wouldn't, right?  Ryan's a great guy and a terrific ambassador to the sport of swimming.  (And what young girl doesn't have a crush on him?  hehe).  We were also joined by senior swimmerLaura Crocker and her mother at the event that had TONS AND TONS of great food.  I'm still talking about how good that chicken was!

And don't forget that Ryan Lochte is the Olympic Champion that signed 6 PCST Swimming caps to be awarded to the top 3 PCST Wavemaker Award Point Scorers in October 2010!

The Mac Crutchfield Foundation supports the dreams of deserving high school swimmers that hope to swim in college as well as the Special Olympics!  Mac's was a wonderful young man who's dream was to help others achieve their dream and it's inspiring to see that even after his passing, he is still able to do that today. :)  We love you Mac!

I hope you join the Crutchfield family and Ryan Lochte next year at the 3rd Annual Dinner!
