Former Tsunami Swimmers Compete For Three Different Teams at University of Florida Collegiate Invitational! For many years the Panama City Swim Team has sent swimmers of to compete at the collegiate ranks.  In fact, if you take a look at our "Collegiate Swimming" section of the website listed under the "Swimmers" toolbar at the top, you will see that we have had swimmers move on to swim for some very good programs.  However, times are changing somewhat in Bay County as we continue to send way more swimmers than ever to...

PCST Finishes 2nd Place Overall Behind Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club In what became the second largest home meet ever hosted in Panama City Beach, your Tsunamis started the short course season off with a ton of very encouraging swims, including a new Junior National qualifying swim by Michael Duderstadt!  While we did not take the overall team title that ended up going to the perennial powerhouse ATAC, we still put together the biggest team we have ever had at a meet and finished the weekend with lots of swims that...

PCST Finishes In Top 10 Overall Among All Southeastern Swim Teams! Picture this.................Frank Brown Park had been open for just 2 short months.  The Panama City Swim Team had 65 swimmers TOTAL split up between both pools.  Facebook was just getting to the point where it was a staple in our society.  Florida State football was......................well......................not as good as many of us would have liked, and Coach Jonathan didn't didn't have nearly as many "smile lines".  (Some call them wrinkles, I call them smile lines.) :)  The year was 2006 (June...

The 8 & Unders Prove To Be All-Time Greatest at PCST Home Short Course Meet on August 27th! It's not all that often that I get to type a news article where I can say the 8 & Unders lead the team.  I am very proud to get to say that today.  But while our three team records all came in the youngest age group on the team, we still had a ton of terrific swims to be proud of from our first short course meet of the season.  All...

Southeastern Championships in Knoxville Bring Loads of Team Records, Championship Swims and New Junior National Times! Every year since 2006, PCST has kept a streak going that will be very tough to break.  Each summer the Tsunamis have scored more team points than the previous year, making it increasingly difficult to keep it going from one season to the next.  For the first time in five years, our championship team did not score more points than the previous year.  GASP........I know.  :)  We have grown so accustomed to always having...

Cody Bronnenberg Becomes First Tsunami To Represent PCST at United States Nationals! For those of you who know Cody or have had the pleasure of meeting him, you would agree with me when I say that earning a spot at Nationals was well deserved for a outstanding individual.  Since I have already written lengthy email after email after email about our trip to Nationals, I am not going to go into detail again about it.  However, I would like to share with you a few things that have made Cody stand out...

Senior Zone Meet Proves To Be A Huge Exclamation Point For Tsunamis! For the second season in a row, the Tsunamis have had great success at the Southeastern Championships, only to be followed up by even greater swims a few weeks later at another championship meet.  This time around, that meet just happened to be the Southern Zone Senior Championships in Orlando, FL.  Nine of our top seniors went down to central Florida with Coach Brian to compete in one of my favorite and fastest pools from my childhood in...

Swimmer Receive Awards at "First In A Long Time" Banquet! When we finally decided to move forward with having a PCST banquet again, we figured it would be small and easy the first time around, just to get our feet wet.  However, if you ask anyone who attended the banquet, it was no small potatoes event!  Thanks to the incredible help of Beth Spencer and Debby Hove, our evening at the First Baptist Church in Panama City was absoultely gorgeous!  We shared a lot of laughs, an incredibly tasty meal,...

Tsunamis Win ATAC Visiting Team Trophy For Second Straight Year! Boy oh boy was this a big meet in Tallahassee!  There were over 460 swimmers from 14 different teams in the meet and 50 of them were from PCST, a new team record for that meet.  While we had the largest visiting team there, ATAC completely dominated their home meet with 141 swimmers.  They came away with a clear cut victory, and there is no doubt about that.  However, the Tsunamis pulled off the visiting team victory for the second year...

Tsunamis Have Fantastic Performances at Bluewater, Swim Atlanta and GPAC Meets To Kick Off The Summer! 18 Tsunami Seniors Stick Out Like Sore Thumb in Atlanta (In a good way!) Each of the last three years, PCST has taken a group of about 16-18 senior swimmers to a "Senior Trip" in June.  In 2009 and 2010 we went to Orlando to compete in the Trinity Prep Meet against a ton of Florida swimmers we rarely see at meets.  This year we decided to head up to Atlanta after getting special...
