Tsunamis Come Home With Team Victory in Destin! For the second straight year, PCST has brought home some terrific hardware from the Emerald Coast Swimming May Meet in Destin, FL.  In 2010, the Tsunamis went to the meet armed with 45 of our toughest age group and novice swimmers and pulled off the upset victory to win the visiting team 1st place trophy.  So you can imagine we had high hopes this year as we entered the meet with 65 total swimmers, mostly coming from our age group and novice...

Tsunamis Bring Home First Ever Team Champion Trophy From Spirit of Mobile Meet! Never before have the Tsunamis gone to Mobile and come home as VISITING TEAM CHAMPIONS.........until today.  Twenty Tsunamis participated in the Spirit of Mobile Long Course Meet, which was the largest group we have ever taken to a Mobile swim meet.  And I have to be honest, I was not going into the meet thinking that PCST had a chance to win the overall visiting team trophy because it is usually very tough to win a meet with...

Tsunamis Break Team Records and Win High Point Awards at Paradise Invitational! Nearly five years ago, I remember sitting in a room with our board of directors trying to figure out when would be a good time to host our home long course meet.  We decided on April because I felt there was a need for an early season opener meet.  I knew it would take off, but never did I imagine we would have 512 kids from 18 different teams in a meet that we actually had to turn away over...

Three Individual Champions Lead Tsunamis To Medium Team Southeastern Championship and Top 10 Overall Finish!! Each year our team goal at the Southeastern Championships is to finish higher than we have ever finished as a team.  The overall team rankings at the meet are clearly the most important stat that we care about.  Two years ago I remember staying behind at the end of the meet, anxious to see the team scores in hopes of PCST finally breaking into the Top 30 overall at the meet!  We did so with a...

PCST Sends Largest and Strongest Team to District Championships in Pensacola! Before this meet, the most swimmers PCST had ever sent to the District Championships was 38 in 2009.  So when I saw that we had 46 competing this year, I knew it was going to be good.  Then, when I looked at the names of the swimmers competing, I REALLY knew it was going to be good!  This was definitely the strongest team we have ever taken to the District Championships and that is always a good sign because...

Tsunamis Hire Coach Jessica Hassler-Barisano as Head Developmental Coach and Team Administrator! This past week you may have noticed a new young coach on deck.  Her name is Coach Jessica Hassler-Barisano and she is our new Head Developmental Coach and Team Administrator.  She will work with Coach Jonathan and Coach Brian to run our developmental program with the Tsunamis that involves the Novice and Summer Splashes swimmers.  This is an incredible step forward for the Tsunamis as she is the third full time employee we have ever hired.  We are...

Amelia Talkington Breaks Two Team Records and Leads Tsunamis In First Auburn Meet Since 2006! The last time the Tsunamis went to the Auburn Meet was June 2006.  I had been the head coach of the team for about 5 days at the time and had only even met about 5 of my own 11 swimmers competing at the meet going into that weekend.  Back then, PCST had about 65 total swimmers on the team.  Needless to say, times have changed.  Now that we range between 175-190 swimmers monthly, we returned...

The current success of our senior group has been something that has been in the making for a long time to come.  The incredible results from the high school season and beyond has been proof that the seniors have been working their tails off for a while now.  Would you like to hear something scary though??  The age groups and young Tsunami stars coming up through the ranks are breaking their records and swimming even faster than they did at...
