The Future of PCST on Display at December Winter Invitational   Years ago, PCST used to have a "fun meet" in December that involved our youngest Novice and Age Group swimmers on the team.  We even invited the PCST parents to come and swim some sprint 25's at the meet long before PCST Masters was ever in existence.  Eventually, we decided to go ahead and make that December meet an official meet just for the PCST swimmers.  Once word got out about the meet, other teams wanted to join in...

Ratliff and Duderstadt Bring Home Top 20 Team Finish From USA Swimming Junior Nationals! One thing we learned this week is that you do not have to have a ton of swimmers to make a big splash on a national scale.  For years I've been teaching our swimmers, parents and community members about everything else that is out there in the swimming world beyond Bay County.  Elite level competitions like Sectionals, Junior Nationals, US Nationals and Olympic Trials are all levels that our Tsunami swimmers and families are experiencing with regularity...

Duderstadt and Ratliff Head To Knoxville, Tennesee For Winter Junior Nationals (Day 1) Whether you have been with PCST for years, are a newby to the team, or are just a fan who loves to follow PCST along on our journey to achieving greatness in and out of the pool, I hope you enjoy the unorthodox news stories coming your way throughout the week.  If you don't......well..........the delete button is just a short click away.  If you do though, then sit back, grab your coffee and enjoy the trip to...

PCST Wins Visiting Team Award For 2nd Consecutive Year at GPAC Gravy Bowl!   Twelve months ago I was on top of the world after our incredible meet at the innagural "Gravy Bowl", hosted by the Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club at the University of West Florida pool.  We had such an great meet that even Coach Brian was happy at the end of it!  :)  We certainly raised the bar pretty high going into the second year of the newly formed pre-Thanksgiving competition.  Tsunamis............I'm here to tell you that we...

Tsunamis Earning Major Recognition For Performances at FHSAA State Championships! Each year the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) hosts the Swimming & Diving State Championships in Orlando in mid November.  It is always special for me to travel down to this pool because it is the exact same place I got my start at the State Championships as a freshman, and it's where I ended it as a senior.  Sure, they have had States at other places, but the Orlando YMCA will always have a place in my heart...................but...

Ironman Florida 2012 Taken Over By Tsunamis!!! There may have been over 3,000 competitors in this year's Ironman Florida, but none were more spectacular than our very own PCST Masters swimmers!  With the brand new adult masters swimming program still in its infancy, only a little over 8 months old, however, we already had an impressive 5 swimmers complete the entire 140.6 mile race!!  Leading the charge for the Tsunamis was our very own Coach Sarah Mrazek, who completed the entire race in a smoking fast 12 hours, 1:22 minutes!! ...

Michael Duderstadt Will Sign To Swim With The Auburn Tigers This Thursday at 2:30 pm at Mosley High School Media Center! I would like to invite any and all PCST swimmers, staff and family members to join the Duderstadt family on Thursday, November 15th at 2:30 pm after school to support Michael Duderstadt during his scholarship signing with Auburn University.   "Duder" is PCST's first ever Olympic Trial qualifier, first ever Junior National finalist, and first ever 2 time State Champion.  But more importantly, he's a great student, a great coach and a great teammate. ...

Fourteen year old Tsunami swimmers Chad McGuire and Alex Phlegar claimed the first and second place high point awards at the Peanut Wiregrass Peanut Meet in Dothan, Alabama.  The boys led the efforts of nearly 50 competing Tsunamis and paced PCST to a 3rd place visiting team finish in the meet which featured 12 teams from Florida, Alabama, and Georgia.  Third place high point honors were awarded to Alex Fulton (8&U Boys) and Kari Troia (13-14...

PCST Swimmers Shine At Florida High School Regional Championships!! I absolutely loved going through all of the Regional High School meet results to write this article because the impressive number of amazing swims was a pure delight to relive over and over.  Last Friday, PCST swimmers competed at two different high school regional championship meets as a second step on to the final piece of the FHSAA post season.  The last championship meet, of course, being the State Championships held this week in Orlando.  Our Tsunamis showed up for the...

PCST Swimmers Strike It Rich At High School District Meets! The Florida High School swimming season is always a tricky one for club coaches to master.  Not only do the swimmers have a lot of dual meets and invitationals in which to compete all season long, they also have a somewhat grueling championship season each year.  Each swimmer and coach have to come up with a game plan that balances ensuring that the swimmers are fast enough to move on to the next level, but are also prepared enough to...
