Jessica Hassler-Barisano Returns to PCST as Head Developmental Coach!

Tsunamis Hire Coach Jessica Hassler-Barisano as Head Developmental Coach and Team Administrator!

This past week you may have noticed a new young coach on deck.  Her name is Coach Jessica Hassler-Barisano and she is our new Head Developmental Coach and Team Administrator.  She will work with Coach Jonathan and Coach Brian to run our developmental program with the Tsunamis that involves the Novice and Summer Splashes swimmers.  This is an incredible step forward for the Tsunamis as she is the third full time employee we have ever hired.  We are very excited to have her on board helping us achieve our goals as a team.  Coach Jessica will be the head on deck coach for the novice swimmers at both locations (Frank Brown Park and GCCC), and will also become the team administrator to handle many of the day to day operations of the team.  This means that each and every Tsunami family will have a chance to get to know Jessica and enjoy having her as a part of the program.

Coach Jessica has come back to rejoin the Tsunamis.  However, when she was last on the Panama City Swim Team, her name was simply "Hassler" and we were known as the "Sailfish".  When she swam on PCST the team consisted of about 40 or so year round swimmers.  Needless to say Jessica is excited to see the Tsunamis with nearly 200 year round swimmers these days and is thrilled to be a part of it. After moving to the Bay County area at the age of 7, she joined PCST and went on to become the Captain of Mosley High School.  She was a member of the All-State Pinch-a-Penny All-Star Team in high school and reached the Sectional Championships Level for PCST.  If you look through the team's all-time top ten rankings, you will find her name in there many times because she was one of our best!

Since moving away to go to college at the University of Central Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, she has had an incredibly successful career working for prestigious hotels in Orlando, FL, Los Angeles and Newport, California.  Her management experience is going to help her tremendously with the Tsunamis as the Team Administrator.  However, swimming has always been her love and it has been a dream of hers to return to PCST to help us grow and achieve our team goals.  Ever since she began swimming with PCST, she was always the "coach in the water" and has worked with many young swimmers on improving their technique.  She has a wonderful understanding of stroke mechanics and we are excited to see her in action again with the Tsunamis.

Be sure to welcome Coach Jessica to the Tsunamis whenever you get a chance.  I would suggest speaking with her before and after practice when you get the opportunity.  You will feel her excitement to be a part of this program and it's contagious.

CATCH THE WAVE!
