Duderstadt & Ratliff Compete at US Open

Duderstadt & Ratliff Compete at US Open!

Two members of the Panama City Swim Team Tsunamis recently competed at the US Open Championships.  Michael Duderstadt and Jonathan Ratliff made the trip West to Irvine, California to swim in the five day meet that featured the nation's best swimmers, regardless of age.  Michael Duderstadt was qualified to swim in two events, the 100 meter Breaststroke and the 200 meter Breaststroke.  In the 200 Breast, Duderstadt became the first Tsunami to make it back to Finals at a National Championship Meet, placing 22nd.  His preliminary time of 2:16.78 was a new Southeastern Swimming LSC Record and a PCST Team Record.  Duderstadt also set new Team Records in the 50 meter Breaststroke (29.94) and the 100 meter Breaststroke (1:03.80).  Jonathan Ratliff qualified for the US Open in the 200 meter Butterfly a few weeks earlier at the Southeastern Swimming Championships in Nashville.  Though his swim in Irvine was not quite as fast as it was fully prepared in Nashville, the experience will be highly valuable as Ratliff looks to earn some high finishes at National level meets this year!  The boys were also able to swim some time trials at the meet.  Congratulations to both men who represented the Tsunamis so well at such a prestigious meet.
