Summer 2009 Short Course Meet Recap

The bad news is that I’ve been so busy this summer, it’s been tough for me to keep up with all of the meets and get results posted as regularly as I would like.  The good news is that I’ve been so busy this summer, it’s been tough for me to keep up with all of the meets and get our great results posted as regularly as I would like!  Our Tsunamis have gone to three different short course meets this summer and I would like to take this time to share some great news and results with you from those meets.

PCST Comes Home with 2nd Place Visiting Team Trophy at ECS!
At a meet where we mostly sent our 12 & under swimmers (with a few older swimmers), the Tsunamis showed just how much strength we’ve got with our up and coming great swimmers by finishing the meet in 3rd place overall.  At most meets, the home team awards a "Visiting Team" trophy if they have so many swimmers that it’s a foregone conclusion that their team will win.  In this case there was no doubt ECS would win their own meet! :)  Our young swimmers really responded well to competing in the brand new Destin YMCA pool with a 2nd place visiting team trophy out of 8 teams, and we can’t wait to go back!

Small Team Posts Big Results at Bluewater Invitational
Our team numbers may have been small at the Bluewater Barracuda meet in Niceville this June, but the swims were huge with our 5 Tsunamis swimmers making us very proud!  All of our swimmers were between the ages of 8-11 and they really shined!  Here are some great results for you from Father’s Day Weekend 2009.

Croix Richardt Has Big Drop in 25 Free!
Congrats to Croix Richardt for dropping an incredible 4 seconds in his 25 free!  This was only Croix’s 2nd meet  and his hard work is clearly paying off!

Heidi Retherford Wins First Ever Trophy at Dothan Waterworld Classic!
Congrats to Heidi Retherford for winning the 7th place overall trophy for the 8 & Under girls at the Dothan Dolphins swim meet over the 4th of July weekend.  While Heidi was the only PCST representative for the meet, she sure made it seem like there was a huge force of Tsunamis there!  She scored 26 points all by herself and truly made all of us here in Bay County very proud!  Heidi’s 50 Fly also ranked her 10th all-time for the 8 & Under Girls age group for PCST!
