Tsunamis Finish 3rd Overall At ATAC Meet!

Tsunamis Are "HOT" As They Finish As The 2nd Place Visiting Team At ATAC!

While I may not have been able to attend the June ATAC Long Course Meet this year (my first time missing that meet in over 12 years!!), I still felt like I was there as I continued to receive great news from our coaches, parents and swimmers about all of our awesome swims.  The consensus was that we were HOT!  Yes..........we were hot because it was June in Tallahassee, haha..........very hot from what I understand.  But we were also HOT because our swimmers were lighting it up in the pool!  The team broke a small handful of team records, made drastic updates to our All-Time Top 10 list, came home with some hardware and had a great time in the process.  Well done Tsunamis!

PCST Finishes 3rd Overall!
For a meet that had over 400 swimmers from 20 teams from the Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Michigan and Virginia areas, it's pretty easy to say that there was some great competition in Tallahassee this year.  While it was a long foregone conclusion that the ATAC program would dominate their own meet by having over 3 times as many swimmers as the next largest team, the 2nd place overall team (aka "Visiting Team Champion") was up for grabs.  While PCST has won that position in the past, we came in a very respectable 2nd place behind the newly formed Coast Aquatics (formerly known as Emerald Coast Aquatics and Bluewater Barracudas).  We are very proud of such a high team finish at a meet with so many teams and swimmers!  Well done Tsunamis!

4 Swimmers Break 13-14 Girls 200 Breast Team Record At Once!
These days, it is becoming increasingly difficult to break a PCST team record.  But recently, our 13-14 girls age group has launched an all out assault on the team records!  The best part is that it's not just one girl breaking all the records, it's a handful of girls!  In particular, at the ATAC meet we had 4 Tsunamis swim under the previous 200 Breast record set by Kyle Olstad in 2007.  We went from nobody breaking that record in 5 years to 4 girls in the same meet.  Congratulations to the following swimmers for all smashing the 3:00 barrier in that 200 Breast.  Michaela Ashley, Fallon Gelsleichter, Kyla Hallam, and Kari Troia all swam under the record, with Hallam being the first and fastest to do so, giving her the record with a 2:55.  This is yet another incredible "first" for PCST and we have never had 4 swimmers under a record at the same time.
