PCST Wins 3rd Meet Of 2010 in Tallahassee!

Tsunamis Take the 1st Place Visiting Team Trophy at the ATAC Long Course Meet!

Yes, I am very well aware that it's now August and this meet took place in late June.  Needless to say, the last month has been a LITTLE busy for us with the great championships that you'll get to read about soon.  But I'm back home (at least for a few days) and I'm working on getting caught up on our terrific news articles from the summer.  There were WAY too many great swims at the ATAC meet to skip putting up here!  Then, wait until you hear about Sectionals, GPAC, Dothan and Southeasterns in the next news article because we just keep getting better! :)

Team Scores
At many meets, the host team will often give out a trophy to the top 3 visiting teams.  In this case, there were 20 visiting teams there with hopes of taking home the 1st place trophy.   Your Tsunamis had never before finished higher than 4th as a visiting team, but that is long gone as we came in 2nd place overall (with 1/3 of the total number of swimmers that ATAC had there) and 1st place as a visiting team.  Congrats Tsunamis!

1) Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club (ATAC)..........7,953
2) Panama City Swim Team (PCST)..................2,664 (1st Place Visiting Team!)
3) Southern Crescent Aquatic Team (SCAT).......2,135
4) Tampa Bay Aquatics (TBAY)............................1,983.5
5) Club Seminoles (NOLE)...................................1,475

17 Swimmers Finish in the Top 10 Overall For Their Age Group!
At a meet as competitive as the ATAC meet, finishing in the top 10 for your age group is a terrific accomplishment.  Coming home with a trophy is even tougher.  But winning your age group is AMAZING!!!  Congratulations to Kalanne Krause who proved that she is the best 11-12 Girls in the region right now and she just keeps getting faster too! :)

One of my team goals is to be the best team in the entire Panhandle region.  While that's a tall order to call with teams like Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club, Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club, Emerald Coast Swimming, Bluewater Barracudas, etc. in the area, I can tell you we are certainly making steps in the right direction.  Winning the ATAC meet twice this year as a visiting team (Jan and June) is something we've never done before and all of our Tsunamis should be incredibly proud of that.  Let's repeat it next year and finish even closer to ATAC in the team point totals!

CATCH THE WAVE!

Coach Jonathan
